It’s the first day of summer which means its just the start to spending more time outside whether that’s playing pickleball, gardening or outdoor music festivals. The last thing you want is for an achy body to hold you back. Now is the perfect time to take care of your joints in preparation for the season so you can enjoy your summer activities pain free.

How do you do that?

When it comes to joint care, it’s all about managing inflammation in natural, healthy way. Supplements like glucosamine and chondroitin are great for cartilage health but if you don’t manage your inflammation levels, that cartilage will likely breakdown again leading to joint discomfort.

Krill oil, a unique and natural source of omega-3 fatty acids EPA/DHA and choline is clinically proven to help support healthy inflammation to support joint mobility and comfort. Working on the cellular level, krill oil omega-3s are made up of the same fatty acid as your cells called phospholipids. That means quick absorption by your cells so all those great nutrients can be delivered throughout your body to support healthy aging, oxidative stress, inflammation, and more. And choline is beneficial for muscle function and health, which is vital for supporting and protecting our joints.

Krill oil can also increase the Omega-3 Index in joint pain sufferers, a key marker of overall health and wellbeing.

Looking for scientific proof?

A 2022 study published in the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition investigated the effects of krill oil on adults (between 40 to 65 years old) suffering from mild to moderate knee osteoarthritis and knee pain. It showed that Superba Boost krill oil resulted in improvements in knee pain, stiffness, and physical function in those with mild to moderate Knee Osteoarthritis (OA).

Moreover, the study found that participants with the greatest level of inflammation at baseline experienced greater improvements in knee pain.

A separate study showed 19% reduction in inflammation (CRP levels) while supporting joint comfort in 7 days (Deustch 2007).

Other previous studies have shown that krill oil may increase the omega-3 index in joint pain sufferers, an indication of the overall levels of omega-3s present in the body.
